If you are interested in the hobby, just know going in that you WILL break it. They all break something eventually--and at this price point, something will probably go pretty quick. The faster they go, the easier it becomes to break them. This combination of sorta cheap and sorta fast means something is likely going to give out within a couple months even if you don't do something egregiously stupid, and then you have to be okay with fixing it. Not long after that, you'll probably have to fix it again.

At that point, you'll either start looking at fancier rigs and get really into the hobby, or this will sit on the workbench in your garage mocking you for a few years. I tapped out at the second steering servo.

For reference, I've got $10k+ into 1/8th, 1/7th, and 1/6th scale cars. Been in the hobby for over half a decade. Have 5 GROM cars - they're all great. All brushed, too. Perfect speed for a 5yo. Replacement parts are cheap, even if you don't bother going through HH warranty (pretty easy). Only failures so far have been a single servo and popped out drive shafts on the Mojave. Typhon is probably the most durable of the bunch (and the quickest). Granite is the most versatile. It's fun to hand out remotes to the neighborhood kids and bash in the alley between houses. At $100 a pop, they're cheap enough to not stress over; slow enough to not break often; and Arrma's parts support is a different level from "so much more car"-no-name-Aliexpress trash.
