This barebones AM02 stands out as a low entry price for a Ryzen 7 H255 mini PC with Radeon 780M graphics, especially for anyone already sitting on RAM and an SSD. The chassis is quiet, boots fast, and can handle light to moderate gaming well, with BIOS updates and driver support available from Firebat. The main drawbacks are warm memory under load and the lack of OCuLink or USB4, so expansion headroom is limited. It is a practical pick if you want 780M performance without paying for a full prebuilt.

Common Questions (5)

 • The Firebat Wi-Fi and Ethernet drivers may need to be installed manually after a fresh OS install, then AMD's driver detection software can populate the rest. Rufus is commonly used to make the Windows USB installer and can avoid a Microsoft account sign-in during setup.

 • At this price, it undercuts other Radeon 780M barebones systems that are often around $300 to $350, and some buyers consider it a strong value. The main caveat is that current RAM and SSD prices can make a full prebuilt more cost-effective if you do not already have parts.

 • No, this listing is barebones, so you need to supply your own RAM and SSD. It is only a good buy if you already have compatible DDR5 SO-DIMMs and an M.2 drive on hand, otherwise the parts cost can erase the savings.

 • Yes, it has two M.2 slots, and an M.2-to-OCuLink adapter can be used for expansion. The tradeoff is that it requires modification and won't look clean, so it suits users who are comfortable modding the chassis.

 • The RAM can get warm, with reported temperatures around 60C during gaming and 66C to 71C in a 30-minute OCCT RAM test. A larger fan or laptop fan on top of the unit is suggested for heavier use, especially gaming.

Sharing my experience here for anyone who comes back to this thread in the future. Based on this [anandtech.com] I was expecting some pretty strong 3dmark scores but for some reason my results are barely better than a 680m. I am using Crucial 5600 2x12gb ram. Tried tweaking performance profile in bios to no avail. It also refuses to sleep in windows 10, unlike my Firebat AM06 system. It just immediately wakes back up on its own... waiting to hear back from support but will probably end up sending it back.

You may want to see if you can allocate more RAM as VRAM. I think it is somewhere in the BIOS, ask gemini. I have yet to do this myself.

Also, sharing my experience. I received the product about 3 days ago. But I just received my secondhand SK HK P41 2TB today and I had 32GB (16GB x 2) Crucial memory which I also purchased second hand.

OK... the only driver I needed was the Wireless Lan driver (I believe it is part of 5 and 6). I also used RUFUS to install my OS.

The motherboard was already registered with Windows Home 11.
 1. 1. I installed the Windows 11 home OS using a thumb drive which RUFUS created.
 2. 2. I then installed the wireless Lan driver and hooked up to my wifi
 3. 3. I had a extra product key for windows 11 pro so I upgraded to that OS.
 4. 4. I updated windows many times
 5. 5. I downloaded and ran AMD Driver installer
I then check out my driver list (device manager) and everything seems to be populated correctly. (there may be a chance that I may need to uninstall the bluetooth driver and install the one from firebat's website... but I have not tested the bluetooth yet).

I have yet to adjust the RAM going to the GPU or run any benchmarks as of yet. But I may if anyone wants to see numbers.

Overall, I am VERY HAPPY... it is VERY SNAPPY so far and takes less then 10 seconds to fully boot up.

p.s. I have not played any games yet. Just finished with the final set up all updates.

Don't understand why you would want to have Windows 10 as the OS? Windows 11 Home is registered to the motherboard.

Here [3dmark.com] is the comparison between my AM02 and another guy running the same exact setup, only with 32gb ram and win11 - would be great if you could add a 3rd data point and install/run this as well.

I will try to get this done by tomorrow. Did you change the mode to "performance" in the bios. Another thing may be the MAX setting for the power supply may be set lower due to heat. I will still run the test for you. And I have 32GB of DDR5 5600 and a 2 TB Gen 4 (SK Hynix P41).

OK... I GOT MY NUMBERS...
Don't know how to make a link, but here they are....

Night Raid Score
29586
Graphics score 35260
CPU score 15475

So why is mine higher then yours....
 1. I have 32GB of RAM and allocated 12GB in the bios to act a VRAM.
 2. I have a P41 M.2 (FAST) and runs cool.
 3. Super CLEAN OS... steam and 3dmark is like the third piece of software that I installed.
That is all I can think of. What make and model is your SSD? and how much RAM did you allocate to VRAM? How much RAM do you have?

Also, I verified with a older firebat system (not this model but it shares this models drivers and also has a 780m) that the power supply is limited to like 45watts... unlike others that offer FULL wattage that the CPU can handle (I think that is 54 watts), this model dials it back just a bit to keep the chassis cooler... this is my theory but I can be completely wrong. The savings IMHO is worth it when you may only lose a few frames per second when playing a game.

BUT my numbers are pretty damn good. I wonder if I allocate more RAM to VRAM if the test would change. Lastly, perhaps the numbers would not be so high if Blueshark used the same version test as you. SystemInfo Version 5.92 VS 5.93.

PER AI... The Difference: If your system is locked at a standard 35W or 45W power cap, but another user has toggled their BIOS to a 54W or 65W "Performance" or "Turbo" mode, their CPU and GPU will sustain higher boost clocks throughout the test, safely explaining the variance of higher numbers.
I think our system may be locked at 54W when technically, the CPU can handle 65W. That is probably the difference. But it means our motherboard and system is less likely to break due to overheating issues. The bios does offer PERFORMANCE MODE (54W) but does not offer TURBO MODE (usually 65W).

Did you run the AMD driver installer software? I repeat... the ONLY driver I used from firebat was the Wireless Lan driver... from there Windows 11 Pro and AMD installer software populated all other drivers.

If you use RUFUS to install the OS, you bypass Microsoft completely and do not need to log in. This mini PC had Windows 11 Home registered through the motherboard's serial number. I spent like $10 and got a windows 11 pro product key and I am running WIndows 11 Pro.
Still think you should go to Windows 11. just use RUFUS to create the USB install drive.

And clearly with the higher scores, perhaps Windows 11 runs things faster.

OK... did a little research and this is what I think. I think you are using a 16GB stick and a 8GB stick for RAM... total memory is 24GB. But unless you have two identical sticks, you will not have dual channel for memory. This is my theory. Not having dual channel will give you scores like the ones you have.

Interesting, thanks for the update, that is helpful. My kit is 2x12gb Crucial. I tried:
-changing the vram allocation to 8gb in bios (default was 6gb)
-changing the power limit
-installing win11
-accessing hidden bios settings (alt+f5) and tweaking APU power limits

All to no avail. So it does point to some kind of power issue. At this point have probably spent 16 hours trying to figure this out... going to send it back and order a Minisforum UM870 Slim which is essentially identical. Hopefully their quality control is better

Yes, when I tried win11 I did the same. Thanks again
