This barebones AM02 stands out as a low entry price for a Ryzen 7 H255 mini PC with Radeon 780M graphics, especially for anyone already sitting on RAM and an SSD. The chassis is quiet, boots fast, and can handle light to moderate gaming well, with BIOS updates and driver support available from Firebat. The main drawbacks are warm memory under load and the lack of OCuLink or USB4, so expansion headroom is limited. It is a practical pick if you want 780M performance without paying for a full prebuilt.
The barebones AM02 can boot quickly after a clean Windows install with the right Firebat WiFi and Ethernet drivers.
A coupon and a PayPal pay-later offer can reduce the total price to about $172.11 plus tax.
The AM02 can deliver strong Radeon 780M gaming performance while staying quiet during normal use.
Firebat releases BIOS updates when needed, which can help keep the mini PC usable over time.
The AM02 is only a good buy when you already have compatible RAM and an SSD available.
The RAM can run warm during testing, with measured temperatures reaching the low 70C range.
The AM02 may have sleep issues in Windows 10, including immediately waking after attempting to sleep.
The AM02 can show weak 3DMark results, and BIOS tweaks may not improve performance for some configurations.

In addition, yes USB4 would be nice... but beggers can't be choosers. Point is, at this price point... who cares and how much do you think it will effect you?
It's a niche use case I know but I'm in that niche so I'll just have to continue looking for deals on other Mini PCs.
"I've downloaded OCCT and Superposition. I ran the default RAM test for 30 minutes and the RAM temps are 66C and 71C."
"I ran the default 1080p resident evil 6 benchmark and got a score of 10414. The RAM was around 60C during this test."
DDR5 naturally runs significantly hotter than older DDR4 memory because the Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC)—the component that regulates voltage—was moved directly onto the RAM stick itself rather than staying on the motherboard.
And soldiered RAM gets much hotter... to the point where it may get throttled but it can be like 30+% faster.

Since it's AMD iGPU, I reckon this will make for a nice SteamOS machine for lighter games.
