Do yourself a favor and get the rigid stand with wheels. It's so much better.

Do not get a dewalt stand. Not this one not with wheels. Not sturdy. Saw good. Stand bad. Ok?

I have one in the box haven't opened yet. I had seen lots of praise prior to your posts but you scared me. I may research before I open it now. I don't have a huge shop so I want a stand on wheels vs. stationary.

I work out of my garage. It is easy to assemble and put away for sure but it's flimsy with 2x4s

As I understand it, the Dewalt stand has a weird cable system for raising and lowering the stand and it kinda sucks. The RIDGID has bigger wheels and it's easier to set up.

I have had the DeWalt Miter saw stand with wheels(goes for about $299) for 10 years and it's held up to a lot of abusive. I'm a heavy DIY guy, not pro. I just finished up my 16' x 24' deck last month. That thing handle the heavy weight of 2"x12"x16' treated like it was mdf baseboards. Could it be lighter, yes, I wish it was made out of aluminum. Does the drop down lever work on the first pull? No but 95%. I would still buy it again. My stand is only rated 4.1, while this saw is 4.6. I own a Rigid tile saw and it's awesome. But don't put a DeWalt saw on a Rigid stand. That's just blasphemy.

Ridgid portable is a beast. It is worth it to spend more.

I have this exact stand. The main benefit is the sides extending really far which makes it great for cutting long materials, particularly if they flex, like crown molding and baseboard etc. I used it to cut all sorts of trim and casing for my house and it was great.
