Bought this last time it was on Slickdeals and currently using it for a lightweight charger for my Lenovo Legion 5. So far been reliable, doesn't heat up excessively with a moderate load, though not sure I would count on it delivering a full 100W for hours. For me, typical draw is around 20-25W with dGPU running and my typical daily workload going, then may crank up to ~80W or so when I have to unplug for a meeting and come back, so typical load + 50W charge to battery. With that use, it seems fine.

As has been mentioned, the whole point of GaN electronics is they're more efficient than Si. So a Silicon based adapter might be 85% efficient with 15% heat production, while a GaN can be 95% efficient, producing only 5%. A third as much waste heat. (Just generic numbers, not from specific product.) Less heat also allows the product to be made smaller, which is one of the main draws for a power adapter block.
What!?! Why aren't all electronics GaN?? Simply because it's like 2-3x as expensive for the basic materials, and would be more if there was much more demand. Fine for something with just a handful of diodes and few transistors, but would scale up with larger systems.

Bracket on USBc port came off when unplugging cable. So essentially down one port. Now paranoid other USBc port is going to do the same. I will probably go back to Anker. These cheapos always fail somewhere.

I can't speak for all of these word-salad brands - but I can say I've never had one from anker and similar brands fail. - usually it's the license only brands that have gotten me for a quick sale and fell apart... (the bell & howells, the rcas, Westinghouse etc)
