Personally I'd rather buy an inexpensive original than a dupe. But that's my preference. I find clones have off putting notes and don't last, in spite of what people claim. Lots of very good original scents out there that don't get cloned and sell for the same price as clones of expensive scents. But to each their own.

Detour Noir is very close and has good longevity. I've had Layton, and since buying Detour Noir, It's close enough that I'll just buy that from now on, and spend the difference on other fragrances.

One of the better Layton affordable clones is North Stag Expressions II Deux by PARIS CORNER. High quality for the price.

Beware that many people associate Layton scent to medicine, and Layton only works in colder weather, its very dense and heavy perfume.

If you're buying the real stuff and don't want to get burned, I'd buy it from a real online fragrance store, but... that being said, I tried bought a decant vial of Layton and Layton Exclusif years ago and didn't really care for either one. But that's just me - I usually blind buy stuff, but was glad I didn't do so in this case. I have friends that love Layton and a lot of people do like it, so, as usual, YMMV.
