I have one of the older models and they work great. With solar charging I don't have to worry about out replacing batteries. With local storage it's an add on benefit.

I would hold off on buying this. They are approaching 2 months since their last botched update that removed rich text thumbnails, which is one of the main selling points of this no-subscription business model. Great hardware horrible software.

July firmware on s220 has made my battery drain on it also

Bummer that the PTZ cam is only 2k. I have two of the older 340's they claim "3k" resolution. Still cant ID a license plate at over 20'. Also, the audio recording is terrible. That being said, I still like these cams, I have two, 1 at my front gate about 150 feet from my wifi and one at my back gate.(rural area) They have been very reliable in alerting me to vehicle, human, and animal approaches. Would

The older 340 only has one usb c port fir power, so you hafta choose solar or hardwire not both.

I guess in this case I shouldn't pay for solar or battery and just get POE and then just keep my POE switch on a UPS.
