  • REGIONAL COMPATIBILITY: Made for use in U.S. & CA only
This is so weird, like the packets are region locked. Maybe the barrel plug wall adapter is only for 120V but lots of places in the world use that.

It's unmanaged. You can ignore that. Prolly for the plug on the power adapter, or the adapter itself is only 110v. I use everything from the US in Japan and it all works despite the voltage AND frequency differences.

I have a few of these (not necessarily this model brand) buried in a box in my closet. I have zero use for it. I wish it would be worthwhile selling on ebay but the amount of money not worth it.

8 gigabit ethernet ports would be nice, but just a typo in the deal posting.
What's the typo? You are getting a switch that has eight Ethernet ports, each port does 1 gigabit.

There are about 3 or 4 models of these.. I have the GS308E, and about to replace it with the GS308EP. I love their simplicity and performance. I think this one isnt "smart" so it has no GUI. Still, durable and useful switches. I ran a cable from my 2nd floor to my 1st floor inside the wall and needed extra ports. This did the job, and still doing it for a couple of years now. For 12 bucks, is a good buy. I got my smart one for 25 bucks or so and the EP version for $40 brand new.

These are ultra reliable. I have put many in dirty, dusty factories and they keep chugging along for years and years even buried in unspeakable muck.

Don't give them ideas. Some ceo will see this and then you'll see switches that encrypt packets for region-locking

A metal brand named 8 port GbE switch for $12, not sure why this isn't getting more attention, am I missing something?

125 upvotes and counting doesn't seem too bad for a gigabit switch in late 2026. People who are technical enough to be buying switches in the first place might be starting to move on to 2.5Gb switches that can handle overprovisioned 1gig (or better) internet service.

Oops, didn't even notice the number of upvotes, I was just going by the little number of comments. But I guess there isn't much to discuss on a dumb 8 port switch, these just work, and usually for a long time. Anyway, got one as a backup, some of my 8 port switches are going on 15 years.
