This WORX 4V screwdriver is a compact, newer model that stands out for light household work, with adjustable torque and a 30 piece accessory kit. It gets praise for better ergonomics than a similar Skil model, enough power for tasks like doorknobs, light fixtures, mirrors, machine screws, and even some drywall screws, and solid battery life for a full day of use. The main drawbacks are the awkward grip for stubborn screws and reports that it can twist your wrist or struggle with corroded fasteners. It seems best suited to small jobs where a slim, powered driver saves hand strain.

Common Questions (4)

  • Yes. It has held up for years on light-duty jobs like light switch covers, changing light fixtures, hanging mirrors, doorknobs, strikeplates, and latches. It is also described as a go-to tool for small household tasks and assembly work with many machine screws.

  • Yes. The WX242L has seven adjustable torque settings, with a 0.15 Nm to 5 Nm range, so it can be dialed down for delicate work instead of relying on one fixed speed. The adjustable clutch collar at the end is the way to identify and change the torque setting.

  • At max torque, it can drive a #6 drywall screw nearly 1.5 inches into dry pine. It handles most routine fastening well, but it may struggle to break loose corroded or stubborn screws.

  • This deal is for the 30-piece kit, and that is more than some earlier versions that came with only 12 accessory bits. The larger kit is one reason this listing stands out versus older purchases.

I bought this screwdriver a couple of years ago for $24.

For light duty, small stuff around the house, it's very good.

This one doesnt crap out when screwing pc components? Because most of those skinny ones ive seen you have to manual unscrew it and then you can proceed. In my opinion that kinda defeats the purpose of an electric screwdriver

WX242L has 7 levels of adjustable torque from 0.15 Nm to 5 Nm.
For more demanding jobs, I would use something with a better grip, as this one is not designed to be held with both hands.

I have both this and the Skil that's frequently here. The Worx has better ergonomics, is thinner and has more torque. I ended up giving away the Skil.

I tested this to see. At max torque, it drives a #6 drywall screw nearly 1.5 inches into dry pine.

Joining the chorus. Bought one last time on sale: IT'S AMAZING. I changed out more than 15 doorknobs with matching strikeplates and latches and and it still had two bars of power at the end of day. It's my go-to tool for almost everything I have a near-complete Dewalt power set.

I have one and I love it. It has lasted so many years. I just took it out a month ago and amazingly, it worked great just as it did day 1. I was going to replace it with this but opted for the "Fanttik F2 PRO Cordless Rotary Tool Kit" which is also on sale right now but at about double this price. I have had good luck with most, but not all, Fanttik products as well.

I have this and love it! I had no idea that I would use it as often as I do. It is my go-to screwdriver now. Going to buy another for my son.

This is not great, pay a bit more and get a better design. It has way too much torque that you end up twisting your hand if not expecting the screw to come to a stop, and when unscrewing stubborn ones it turns the whole body due to odd shape with no grip. It's good for smallvscrews and maybe stuff like light switch covers.
Edit... My mistake, I did not realize this is the improved model with 7 torque setting, the one I had only speed not torque, I guess this is a better unit that fixes the very annoying issue of last Gen.

I've bought 4. Two for me and two as gifts. This deal is higher than what I paid, sub-30. If you need a powered driver with smart torque settings, this is good. About the torque, I despise the ergonomics because the torque can turn the wrist instead of the screw. The real PITA is that you have to use the supplied charging cable because someone mixed up the power pins.
