Great waffle maker, I have one. Fast, non-stick, makes great waffles. I mostly use Alton Brown's "Luftwaffle" recipe but any recipes come out good.
I have the larger rectangle version of this, it too makes great waffles but the bottom plate doesn't get quite as hot as the top, so for the last minute I open the top and let the bottom cook a little longer.
How is cleaning it? I don't think the plates are removable right?
You don't have to clean it, it's non stick. Unless you overheat it and burn the sugars in the batter, the waffles won't stick, any batter spills on the sides or whatever you just wipe off with a damp cloth while it's still hot.
Use a thermometer and check the temp and mark the dial for 375 F and keep it there. 6-8 minutes and you have a perfect waffle that falls right out.
Most people think they have to turn the dial all the way up. 3/4 is about where mine is the perfect temp. Commercial waffle makers are pre-set at 360F but will take longer.
