Amazon has for Prime Members: Prime Members: P Is for Pterodactyl: The Worst Alphabet Book Ever (Hardcover) for $6.43. Shipping is free.

Thanks to Deal Hunter phoinix for finding this deal.

About this book:
  • Let's get realโ€”the English language is bizarre. A might be for apple, but it's also for aisle and aeons. Why does the word "gnat" start with a G but the word "knot" doesn't start with an N? It doesn't always make sense, but don't let these rule-breaking silent letters defeat you!
  • This whimsical, funky book from Raj Haldar (aka rapper Lushlife) turns the traditional idea of an alphabet book on its head, poking fun at the most mischievous words in the English language and demonstrating how to pronounce them. Fun and informative for word nerds of all ages!

This is actually very good once the kid is past the phonics stage. Second to third grade appropriate maybe?

A is for Aisle, B is for Bdellium...

Just remember, if you can't remember the exact name of the song (Crazy ABCs) don't use your ai assistant to search for Barenaked Ladies on youtube and hope to see it at the top of your search results.

(I have no idea how many of the same words were used as in the book, but it's a fun song and I have made just such a search mistake. Pre-AI Siri was not amused.)

It's worth buying, just to irritate all the people who gave 1-star reviews and returned it because of the "O is for Ouija" page. ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ™„
