if you can wait that means you don't need it now, so don't buy it

Community Reviews

The MacBook Air M5 stands out as a strong value for buyers chasing Apple silicon performance, especially in higher memory and storage trims like 24GB and 1TB. The thread highlights past prices around $749 to $899, with several recent buys near $1,049 to $1,149 and praise for the 24GB and 1TB configuration at this level. Pricing has moved sharply upward since a recent hike, so older lows are unlikely to return soon. AppleCare is not price matched, and the best value may depend on catching the right configuration or an open box or price match opportunity.

Common Questions (4)

  • Prior prices mentioned include about $899 in May, around $749 on earlier deals, and $1050 for the 24GB/1TB model in June. Those lower prices were before a later price hike, so they may not return soon.

  • Yes, the 24GB/1TB configuration at this price is considered a strong buy, especially compared with the much higher prices seen after the hike. It was also previously seen around $1050, which makes the current pricing stand out.

    slimdunkin117phoinixFabulousScene9195

  • Best Buy already matched the 16GB/512GB price, and one buyer also used a Best Buy match to get an open-box excellent unit for $983. AppleCare is not price matched, so add-ons may not follow the same discount.

  • The current market is described as abnormal after a recent price hike, and those earlier lows are not expected to return soon. Black Friday is more likely to bring bundles than much cheaper base configurations.

Why are people here asking about previous better deals? Daydreaming? Nostalgia? It's a good laptop. Buy it if you need it, but definitely not if you just want it. A lot of computing devices are turning into luxury items (meaning they now rarely go on sale). Black Friday is right around the corner.
Nostalgia is not a few months ago so maybe that is why. A vast amount of people have zero idea that ram prices and storage have gone up so they go to the natural reaction to see what is was a few months ago. They have no idea that these prices are gone and that bf isn't going to lower prices they will likely bundle stuff not affected by the prices.

You and me both! I got the 13" 24gb/1tb for $1049 but had my heart set on the 15" if I was gonna get one .... 2 weeks later the 15" 24gb/1tb went for $1149 and I pulled the trigger again. Now I have 2 I didn't really need, but since I got such a good deal on em I was not returning them.
24/1tb for that price is a really good deal

People ask to compare generally, but today's market isn't normal..I don't think prices are coming down again.
You can always get a refurbished m3 or something those are still solid

I wish there was a 24gb with 512 option. I don't need so much of SSD storage.

Does AAFES/Mil Exchange price match? Price is not updated there. Not sure how long these deals last.

Call and ask. Worst they can say is no. You're not going to get a useful answer here compared to contacting them

This if you need it but I'd bet on retailers being able to do a little better than $200 off for Black Friday.

The last good MBA you will ever see was the M4 16gb for $750 last BF. Honestly last years BF was likely the best BF we'll have in 10 years.

That might be the lowest it's going to be. I might go after the yoga 9i if it's around $1000 with 32GB Ram 1TB SSD
