The MacBook Air M5 stands out as a strong value for buyers chasing Apple silicon performance, especially in higher memory and storage trims like 24GB and 1TB. The thread highlights past prices around $749 to $899, with several recent buys near $1,049 to $1,149 and praise for the 24GB and 1TB configuration at this level. Pricing has moved sharply upward since a recent hike, so older lows are unlikely to return soon. AppleCare is not price matched, and the best value may depend on catching the right configuration or an open box or price match opportunity.

  • The 24GB/1TB configuration at the deal price is described as a really good deal.

  • Best Buy price matching and an open-box excellent unit can reduce the effective cost for a 13-inch MacBook Air M5.

  • A 24GB/1TB purchase at $1050 in June is described as a strong deal before rapid price changes.

  • The deal can be improved further when a Best Buy match is combined with an Amex cash back offer.

  • AppleCare add-ons are not price-matched, so the deal price may not apply to AppleCare.

  • Prices reportedly jumped quickly after earlier purchases, which can make the deal feel time-sensitive.

  • Lower prices seen earlier may be unlikely to return after a couple-months-ago price hike.

  • The current market is described as abnormal, with expectations that Black Friday may rely more on bundles than lower base prices.

Oh wow . You scored both the deals ? I saw both 13 & 15" deals . It was very tempting & I was resisting it hard not to pull the trigger on both . I It was such a nice deal . Corrections: I got the 15 inch sky blue for $1150 and did not go for the 13 inch .
Yup. I check Slickdeals and my wish lists constantly, and I almost never sleep on a price mistake.
Sony camera deals? Got 'em.
That legendary Samsung LCD and soundbar combo for around $150? Got that too.
One of my favorites was the stackable Target online coupon mistake. I ended up buying a full gaming room setup for the new house: TV, entertainment center, Xbox, games, controllers, futon, gaming chairs, speakers, dartboard, card/bumper pool table, shelves, even a shaggy area rug.
It was all in-store pickup, and after stacking enough 20% off coupons, the total came out to under $200. The discounts just kept compounding: $1,000 became $800, then $640, and so on.
There have been plenty of deals like that over the years. But the saying is true: I'm going to go broke saving all this money.

That might be the lowest it's going to be. I might go after the yoga 9i if it's around $1000 with 32GB Ram 1TB SSD
Good choice.

If you remove the Apple logo, does this machine with these specs justify the price tag? You're probably paying a 30%premium for the logo.

Half true. I did return it cause I didn't need it, have m1 still works well. But I knew prices weren't coming down cause the prices had already increased
The M1 basic, pro, max are still very good today. I still rock 64gb M1 Max next to M4 and 226v. Even the Intel Lunar Lake & M1 is awesome for $300s. The only worth it over $500 is M4 $750 16gb, and M1 Pro $600 32gb

Sorry, it's already spoken for. I gave it to my wife as a little surprise after I bought the 15". She hasn't even opened hers yet; it's still sealed in the Apple packaging. My 15" is also new in box and still inside the corrugated shipping carton. Honestly, this is kind of a thing I do from time to time. Once, during the height of lockdowns and the PS5 shortages, I managed to order a PS5 from Walmart. When it arrived, I left the shipping box by the door and said it needed to "air out the germs." For months afterward, I'd randomly tell my son to go grab my PS5. He always refused or assumed I was messing with him. Every now and then, I'd play a PS5 unboxing or ASMR video on YouTube "just to see what was in the box." Eventually, I found a deal on a PS5 NVMe heatsink and ordered it. When it arrived, he happened to ask if he could open the bubble mailer. He saw the heatsink and said, "We don't have a PS5. What do you need this for?" I told him, "Sure we do. It's been sitting here for months. You just refused to open it for some reason." Watching the realization hit was glorious. It was great seeing him figure out that we'd had one the whole time, and he'd only ignored it because he thought I was pranking him, which, to be fair, I kind of was. The best part was after he got past the cardboard outer shell and his initial shock, he started opening it like the ASMR video we watched - tapping his fingers and fingernails all over it ridiculously like they did in the video.
Do not keep outside cardboard inside the home, that is where all the nasty stuff likes to live.

Not sure If I should keep my current M1 Air or upgrade to this one. How long Apple is supporting the M1 Air? I don't have any issues with M1 right now but Do I still have a few year with it?
