They'll do anything but put usb-c at the bottom of these.

I've had two of these where they eventually vibrate themselves to death and you have to open it up to loc-tite a screw. Are the new ones still like this?

These just vibrate? No movement action?

That's correct. They vibrate at high speed with very minor movement. I've been using something similar for the last 10 years. I've gotten excellent checkups. I'm contemplating buying this one for travel. The only issue I have with these is you need to clean the tip under the brush head with some sort of cleaner ( I use scrubbing bubbles) and then rinse or you get a funky smell. Change brush heads regularly as well as the inner core will build up microscopic bacteria contributing to the funk as well

I always remove the brush head after use and that keeps it pretty clean

$65 seems pretty reasonable for the 5950, especially with 2 brush heads and the travel case. I've been considering one for travel, so this is tempting.

I've never had issues with sonicare gumming up excessively nor any stankiness. I rinse well and then shake the shit out of it to get as much moisture off the head as possible. Unlike the rest of my family's, the place where my tooth brush sits isn't coated in toothpaste/whatever slime.

I bought my tween son a cheap 1000, but it didn't seem to work for him as well as oral-b, so it became my travel toothbrush. I don't travel as often as I used to, so it's perfect for that and won't bum me out if it gets lost or stolen. It works well for me, though its power is lacking compared to my main 4100.

I've always wondered if the more expensive versions are worth the money, but I'm so happy with my low-mid-level brush that I haven't but the bullet. Maybe if this one ever dies. If I traveled more often I'd get another 4100 or better, as you're contemplating.

Yeah, that makes sense. I'm mainly looking at this one for travel too, so it's good to hear it's been working well for you. The extra power would be nice, though.
