Costco's Nintendo eGift card promo is a strong way to stretch Nintendo spending, especially for Switch 2, games, and other hardware. The cards can be split because each has its own code, and the discount stacks with Costco email coupons and Member Appreciation Days. Some orders arrive within hours, though codes can lag and a few checkouts are getting canceled. The main limits are account verification, name mismatches, and purchase caps, so it works best when the Costco account is fully set up.
Common Questions (5)
Cancellations were tied to account verification and billing/shipping name mismatches. Verifying the Costco online account first, matching billing and shipping details, or calling Costco support to have the order forced through resolved the issue for some orders.
Codes can arrive within minutes or take several hours, with reports ranging from about 2 hours to roughly half a day. If the order is confirmed but the codes have not arrived yet, that delay can still be normal.
Yes. Nintendo eGift card funds can be used for games, hardware, and other Nintendo purchases, and a recent policy change allows consoles to be bought with eShop credit at checkout. They do not work for purchases at Nintendo's physical stores in NYC or San Francisco.
The deal page was reported as limited to 10 per member, with one transaction per set of cards per account and only one such transaction every 14 days. The practical workaround is to use another account if you need more than one qualifying transaction.
The current U.S. Nintendo eShop balance cap is $800. That means you can load up to $800 total into a Nintendo Account before hitting the limit.

I'm very wary about building up a digital gift card balance for Nintendo or PlayStation as I'm sure the end goal is to keep prices inflated and control all sales for themselves as sales of physical games are slowly phased out. I'm sure many of the physical copies of games I've grabbed in the $10-30 range over the past 25 years on Slickdeals will be in their digital stores for $40-60 with only very rare discounts that they have complete control over. Plenty of those games are ones I probably would not have bought if they hadn't been on sale.

It could be that the 1st party games stagnate on pricing a bit, but all the 3rd parties will still be competing for your dollar. I'm not suggesting loading up to $800, but I'm personally going to grab $200 or so I think.
Be sure to track the games you want on dekudeals or similar so you know when they hit a price you are happy with.
