Costco's Nintendo eGift card promo is a strong way to stretch Nintendo spending, especially for Switch 2, games, and other hardware. The cards can be split because each has its own code, and the discount stacks with Costco email coupons and Member Appreciation Days. Some orders arrive within hours, though codes can lag and a few checkouts are getting canceled. The main limits are account verification, name mismatches, and purchase caps, so it works best when the Costco account is fully set up.

  • The deal can stack with a Costco.com $50 off $500 email offer for additional savings.

  • The eShop funds can be used for more than eShop credit, including games and hardware purchases.

  • Codes may arrive within a couple hours after order confirmation, which can reduce delivery anxiety.

  • The eGift cards can be split into multiple codes for gifting to different people.

  • Some orders get cancelled repeatedly, including attempts using different cards.

  • Nintendo eShop account balance has a maximum cap, which can limit how much credit can be loaded at once.

  • Order cancellations can be triggered by a billing and shipping name mismatch, which may prevent coupon reinstatement.

  • Digital eShop funds cannot be used to pay at Nintendo's physical stores in New York or San Francisco.

just reach out to customer service via chat. or go in-store if its convenient.
I'll do that. It ate the 50/500 coupon. Hopefully that can be reapplied.

Stupid question. Everyone says you can use this for hardwarde, but I see this in their desription "This Item Can Be Used To Purchase Games and Downloadable Content Via The Nintendo eShop" Says nothing about hardware. I assume others have used them before for hardware?
You previously could not. There was a relatively recent policy change (past year IIRC) that now allows you to purchase consoles and other hardware with eShop credit. If you aren't convinced, you can add whatever the minimum charge is to your account directly then add a Switch 2 to cart. On the payment screen, you should see the option to use your current wallet balance for the purchase.

Where ever you ordered from just cancel that order even nintendo. Most places not charging cards until near pre-order date
The Zelda Switch 2 console is sold out. So you can't cancel and then reorder.

Does anyone know if I can change my pre-order for the Zelda edition switch 2 from my credit card to using these gift cards?
Just cancel your preorder. I'm 99% sure that these consoles are not going to sell out. The console don't have anything special for preorder. Unlike the OOT preorder that comes with the foil something on physical.

Same thing happened to me. Chat told me there was a mismatch between the name on my shipping address, and my credit card. I've placed dozens of orders previously without issue.

They couldn't re-instate the coupon, nor could they unlock the discounts again on the website.

Yes. Ordered one of each and got a code then ordered another $200 pack and cancelled over and over. Getting emails that say I exceeded quantity yet the item page says 10 per customer so that makes no sense.

UPDATE: You can only do one transaction per set of cards per account. You can do up to 10 sets in a single transaction but only that one transaction every 14 days per the vendor (Nintendo). So dumb. They recommended trying my wife's account.

I had the same issue with billing/shipping NAME. Addresses were completely the same. I tried to chat but they were not helpful, so I called into the 1-800 number and they were able to force it through after speaking with some processing team. It took about 20 minutes on the phone but it was worth it. I got the gift cards about 3 minutes after hanging up, so total time after order was less than an hour. I believe it's because they forced it through so YMMV

Lol I misread it as 1 bundle per transaction and a limit of 10. I 100% could of made use of that 50 off. Funny thing i ordered two gift cards on separate transaction both went through. I later went to store when 3rd order was cancelled. The store sign says 10 limit. no mention 1 transaction limit.
