The issue is not with how much you shop at Costco. You have to subscribe to emails from Costco at https://www.costco.com/u/-/email-sign-up

Also it won't send coupon right away after you sign-up. Have to wait until next pool.

This Costco.com email promo knocks $50 off a $500 or more online order and has been used to stretch purchases on Nintendo and PlayStation gift cards, Apple Watch Ultra 4, Winix air purifiers, and even 24 Hour Fitness memberships. The code can stack with separate gift card sales, and the discount is prorated across items if part of an order is returned. Fine print matters, though, since it is not valid in warehouse, is limited to one code per member, and excludes Costco Shop cards, memberships, travel, pharmacy, and several other categories.

  • The $50 off $500 promo can stack with Nintendo and PlayStation gift card discounts for larger savings.

    Juantho559thethingx

  • The promo can reduce the effective cost of high-ticket items when the cart reaches the $500 merchandise subtotal.

    Corzillacubeenigma

  • The promo can be redeemed on Costco.com orders using gift card purchases like Nintendo eShop and PSN credit.

    cubeenigmadavin900

  • Costco chat or a live agent can reportedly help generate a missing promo code after an email is deleted.

    jjgriffinjjgriffin

  • The promo code is not valid for in-warehouse purchases and requires a Costco.com checkout entry.

    binkie94Ivanist

  • The promo code can exclude Costco gift cards, which limits how the $500 threshold can be funded.

    bluekiwibinkie94

  • The promo code may fail with a technical error message and may not work for every checkout attempt.

    PowerfulGame389Sexbarril

  • The promo code can be limited to the primary member and may not apply to a second household member.

I'm planning to use the coupon to buy a few items. If I return one of the items, does Costco deduct the entire $50 discount or will they prorate it to the item being returned.

I appreciate your offer, much respect but that is absolutely not necessary. I received the code for free and wasn't using it. The next best thing was to offer it to someone who could 🙂
Agc was sent as promised, thanks!

The coupon will be prorated to each item according to their price, so if you return one, the prorated discount will stay remain on the other.
