Look man, for 113 shipped, I'll 3d print the hinge braces and deal with it. It's a slick deal
Community Reviews
The WH-1000XM5 stands out for stronger sound and noise canceling, with refurbished pricing dropping well below retail through cart offers, watchlist offers, and the COUNTDOWN20 coupon. Free shipping and a two year Allstate warranty add value, and the same coupon also applies to related Sony listings. The main caution is build quality, especially hinge durability, which makes the XM5 feel less robust than some alternatives. It is a compelling refurbished option if you want Sony ANC and can handle the lighter construction.
The deal can stack an eBay cart offer with the COUNTDOWN20 coupon for a lower checkout price.
Secondipity via eBay reportedly includes a 2-year Allstate warranty on the refurbished XM5.
The XM5 can deliver a large improvement in sound quality and active noise canceling versus older models.
Some buyers report no hinge issues with their WH-1000XM5.
The XM5 build can feel flimsy, and damage may occur when rotating the earcups to adjust.
Repeated coupon use may lead to exclusions that treat damage as user damage.
The XM5 may be viewed as not worth upgrading from XM4, and some people consider it a downgrade due to build quality concerns.
The listing may be labeled differently as eBay refurbished versus certified refurbished, which may create uncertainty about what is included.

The blacks will wind up being my at-home headphones while my XM4s stay in my work bag for the train commute. The silvers will go to my partner to help with some sensory sensitivity.
