About this game:
  • Reaping souls of the dead and punching a clock might get monotonous but it's honest work for a Crow. The job gets lively when your assigned soul is stolen and you must track down a desperate thief to a realm untouched by death - where creatures grow far past their expiry and overflow with greed and power.
  • Talon Sharp Combat: Utilize melee weapons, arrows and magic to overcome a fantastic array of beasts and demigods. Mistakes are punished and victory is rewarded. Gain an edge by customizing your character stats and mastering the abilities and upgrades you obtain.
  • A Beautifully Bleak World: Venture beyond the Doors and explore a land full of twisted inhabitants and countless secrets, bringing hope to the weird and wonderful characters you'll meet along the way.
  • A Dark Mystery to Unravel: Track down and defeat colossal tyrants with stories and motivations of their own. Experience a somber yet darkly comedic tale, uncovering the truths behind the flow of souls, the role of the Crows and the origin of the Doors.

This is a very fun game that actually has a very good story. Combat is great and easy enough you're not too frustrated on boss fights. 100% it when it was on gamepass and will get it just to own. The music on it is very well done and the devs deserve more recognition for this game

Excellent game. Played it long time ago, and I remember really liking it.

I think it was kinda overshadowed by Tunic because of the similar isometric view and very similar art style, with both coming out around the same time. So lots of people compared the two.

Personally, I prefer Death's Door any day. It was a well designed game with good combat.

Would highly recommend this game.

Yep, I enjoyed Death's Door dramatically more than Tunic. I think folks assumed Tunic was more Zeldalike because of the asthetic, but I found Death's Door to be much more and game play and more fun. There is some Soulslike DNA here, but it has a major old school Zelda vibe.

I recently played Minishoot Adventures and it scratched the same itch (Zeldalike with a twist) and was also excellent. I am currently working on Crypt Custodian that also has a similar vibe, but not quite at the level of the other two games.

I recently did 100% on it a couple weeks ago, free from epic. Was clearing some of my game backlog. The story is a bit shallow and cartoony, and the puzzles are light and dungeon design rather repetitive with rooms always looping back to a hub with little challenge. But the boss battles are pretty exciting. Unfortunately it's a rather short game if you don't try to find all the secrets, with only like three main dungeons and bosses aside from the last one and a couple of optional ones. But the music is literally the only reason I bothered backtracking through some of the repetitive dungeon rooms in search of secrets. I was looking for the soundtrack online and stumbled upon this comment. "The music is so peak while the game is meh." Something along those lines. It's a good game, but it lacked a bit of ambition with it's length, breadth, story, dungeon design and puzzles. It had a lot of potential, but felt like a shorter casual indie game instead of a competitive Zelda worthy game, while the soundtrack far exceeded it's scope and beats most Zelda soundtracks. The meh comment distills this mismatch.
