Do not buy these. They have cardboard reels. They get damaged very easy in shipping. Only order filament with plastic or a non-bendable reels.

Plenty of edge guard models available on most sites like Printables or Makers World. I don't use them myself and I've had no issues with cardboard spools.

Can't speak for other printers, but my Bambu A1 has had no issues, and I've only ever used cardboard spools. Also, there are plenty of fully printable re-spooling solutions that make transferring filament to "better" spools trivial—and there's no shortage of printable spools on every 3DP website. Also: of all the companies you can buy filament from, Elegoo is going to have some of the better quality spools, even in cardboard.

People are buying filament, and as filament goes this is higher quality than much of what's on offer at this price range. Instead of scaring people new to the hobby with shit like this, why not provide some advice & information the way I did? As someone who's gone through it already, I can tell you firsthand it's a hell of a lot more useful.
