All small electronic devices use very low wattage. Even plugging in a few PCs or monitors will draw very minimal wattage. Even if it does overload the circuit will just trip and shut off. Stop making everyone so paranoid.
This 22 outlet surge protector is mainly useful for packing a lot of low power gear into one strip, especially behind a PC or entertainment setup. The six USB ports and 6.5 foot cord add convenience, and it has been used for USB hubs, memory card readers, external drives, KVM switches, pedals, and a mixer without issues when total draw stays modest. The main concern is safety, since the comments question the UL certification framing and warn that overloading a single receptacle or circuit with high wattage appliances can be risky. Its bulky shape also matters because boxy plugs can block neighboring outlets, making it a space saver only when the load is light.
Home office setups with lots of low-power peripherals, because it can run a USB hub, memory card reader, external drive, and KVM while staying under about 300 watts.
Kitchen counters with multiple high-wattage appliances, because an air fryer and microwave on the same receptacle can be a concern and may trip the breaker.
It is better suited to low-power loads; using multiple high-wattage appliances on the same receptacle or circuit can trip a breaker or create overheating risk. A few commenters specifically call out kitchen combinations like a microwave plus air fryer as a concern.
Only the cord and plug are described as UL certified, not necessarily the entire 22-outlet unit. That matters because a fully certified strip gives more confidence about the whole assembly, while a partial certification can leave the main body unverified.
Yes, it can work well for low-powered gear such as a USB hub, memory card reader, external hard drive, KVM switch, pedals, and a mixer. One setup reported staying under about 300 watts, which keeps it in a safer range for this kind of strip.
Yes, the physical size can matter because bulky or boxy plugs may occupy neighboring outlets. The practical value is not just the outlet count, but whether the strip's shape leaves enough room for adjacent plugs.
Where are them articles about all the humouses burning .....
Thousands of fires start every year because of surge protectors and extension cords. Mostly due to misuse, such as overloading the circuit. But yeah, let's sell a product with 22-outlets and encourage people to plug everything they own into it. Oh, and we'll get just the cable and the plug itself UL certified to give a false sense of safety because we know the entire unit would fail certification.
I have one powering Meris and Strymon MX pedals, a SSL mixer. Now, all my gear terminates on a high-quality sinewave UPS though.
No smoke, no fire...except when I'm shredding (in .25 speed mode of course like most YouTubers, then speed it up in the editor)

Seriously. If overloading a circuit burns your house down then your house wiring is FUBAR. This is possible if they have a Federal Pacific panel but that's 100% their fault for having a fire hazard protecting the home's wiring.
Yep, anyone who has done electrical work will know that the 'outlet' itself can overheat and some old homes do not have an insulator box to protect against this stuff. Instead, the outlet is basically right behind some insulation. The only time something like this would be viable is for maybe a home entertainment system as you are not going to be using your Blu-Ray Player, PS5, XBOX, VHS Player all at the same time. Now if you put this in your kitchen and want to use your Microwave, Instant Bot, Air Fryer, Blender and Steamer all at the same time, you are asking for trouble.
