I think he means the item itself. The deal is for Prime Day so it auto-applies.

I looked at getting one when I needed to replace my anode, and while the technology itself is used at scale to protect pipelines and such, there are plenty of reviews showing the water heaters rusting out within a few months--granted, that could be from a bad install with improper grounding, but if you're only replacing your anode every 3-5 years and they cost $15 and you can be sure they work, is it worth risking your water heater?

These do work as far as getting rid of the rotten egg smell. I don't know about making your tank last longer. I've had one for about 4 years. Had nasty smelling well water and after a couple days the smell was gone.

I have this installed, and as other commenters noted, they work great at taking care of stinky water. It's only been installed for a couple of years on a 25 year old water heater, but it certainly helped with the water chemistry and didn't result in a sudden failure of the tank.

I had previously been cycling through various anodes trying to find an alloy that worked and never could. This thing was a huge upgrade.

If it didn't solve your rotten egg smell where you have the smell and taste on your cold water taps, then you probably need to bleach your well. I've gotta do this soon unfortunately. Otherwise, these anodes kick ass. Traditional magnesium or aluminum anodes get eaten alive after 1-2 years when you feed your hot water heater softened water.

This---I am changing my anode rod every other fall because it gets chewed up by my water softener. But my water heater is 25 years old, works great and showing no signs of slowing down. Full flush every fall as well before winter
