Lexivon torque wrenches are positioned as practical DIY tools, with the 1 2 inch drive best for wheels, lug nuts, and suspension work, the 3 8 inch for many engine and brake jobs, and the 1 4 inch for smaller bike or interior tasks. The longer 1 2 inch model gets the most praise for leverage and ease under a car, and the tools are described as accurate and durable over years of use. The main cautions are a faint click on some units and accuracy concerns from testing, so zeroing the wrench after use matters.

  • The 1/2-inch drive can be a better fit for wheel and suspension work because it provides extra length and leverage.

  • The 1/2-inch and 3/8-inch torque wrenches can work well for DIY and casual maintenance tasks like tire lug nuts.

  • The torque wrenches can support a range of jobs by letting you choose the drive size based on typical torque needs.

  • The Prime-exclusive pricing can drop to the listed deal price when the product page shows the exclusive price before checkout.

  • The measurement increments can be set in steps of 15, which can make fine torque adjustments more annoying.

  • The 1/4-inch model can fail to provide a clear click, which can lead to stripped threads on oil pan bolts.

  • The torque warning click can be barely noticeable on some purchases, which can reduce confidence during tightening.

  • Accuracy testing can show up to about 10% error on the 1/2-inch model at 50 lb-ft, even though it is positioned as the cheapest option tested.

Which size should I use if I want to start working on basic car stuff, like torquing down my wheels after installing a wheel lock?
1/2" for high torque stuff. My lug nuts require 150 lb.ft. for example. But a 3/8" is great too for other stuff. I just did brakes on my car and used both a 3/8 and 1/2. You can get a 3/8 at Harbor Freight for about 15 or 20 bucks that works fine for occasional use.

I wanted to torque spark plugs and oil / tramission pans and fasteners, but they are only under 20 lbs torque. Any reccomendation for lower lb torque rachet? Thanks!

It looks like WLNWP47J no longer works. I got the 1/2" with the other code and then tried to get the 3/8" also, but this code wouldn't work with multiple attempts. Maybe I need to wait a bit before trying it again, but YMMV.

I have the 10-150lb. 1/2" Lexivon. No complaints, just using it so far on lugs. Project Farm tested the 1/2" lexivon listed here, came in last place. Granted it was by far the cheapest wrench tested, but on the 50lb. test it was as high as 10% off, on what I recall was on four of the seven cycles done at 50lbs. Yikes!
