Subscription required for most functions and battery drains ridiculously fast.
I have the myQ door garage door opener/sensor? and love it, no subscription and I can open/close the door through the app https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075H7Z5L8
cost me $8 when I bought it (was $18 before coupon)

I saw this at Lowes for the same price. I have the myq garage door opener, it works good. But in the beginning my garage door opened by itself 2 times on separate days. Hasn't happened for the last 2 months though.
Things it can do without a subscription:
- open and close the garage door (if your opener motor is MyQ)
- view real time video.
Things it requires a subscription for:
- recording video
- activity notifications
If you just want a fancier keypad that lets you see what's outside and don't mind recharging it every 3 months, the price isn't bad. Otherwise, don't bother.
My older myQ hub was getting wonky. I bought this last week. This seems to have solved all of the issues. I want to be able to confirm door status remotely and be able to close it when someone in the family doesn't get it closed. The old hub would get the door status wrong occasionally. This solves my issues by allowing visual confirmation of where the door is. Can't comment on the battery life, but it did take a long time to charge. For $30, it's a fancy keypad for the garage. Seems the features are worth the extra $15 over a simple keypad....
