Actual satin or silk is pricey. This serves as my night cap, hair bonnet or whatever you want to call it. The texture is good for hair without having to put one on. I don't need these to last forever, though I've used these Bedelite pillow covers now for years.

Satin is a type of weave and can be made from many different fibers. These are still "actual satin." They're just made from polyester, which is dirt cheap.

Friendly PSA before anyone buys: These are 100% Polyester Satin, NOT real Mulberry Silk. Real silk costs $20–$30+ per pillowcase. However, polyester satin still gives you that same smooth, frictionless feel for hair frizz and skin wrinkle prevention at 1/10th the cost.

Honestly, for $3.19 a pair, poly-satin is way easier to care for too—you can throw them in the normal wash/dryer without ruining delicate silk fibers.
