Lots of good Corelle deals right now. It often comes up in these posts that IKEA and Target have cooler-looking plates of a similar type that they sell all the time at Corelle sale prices. True-ish, but Corelle is notably lighter, more svelte, etc. if you want the lightest, strongest plates that are also easy to clean, I'm not aware of a better option than Corelle.

Yes, they are basically the Helvetica of dishware from a purely visual aesthetic point of view. But I think that's fine—puts more focus on the food. If you'd rather have more interesting dishes, you'll probably have to sacrifice on strength, weight, or durability.

All my IKEA plates were lovely but most of them broke. My correlle never broke
