Compared to the Apple Watch or other wrist HRM, chest straps are significantly more accurate and responsive than wrist-based optical monitors, making chest straps the gold standard for high-intensity or interval training, while wrist monitors offer superior everyday convenience for steady-state activity and general health tracking.

I used to think that, maybe it depends on the user. I tested 3 garmin watches with a Garmin cheat strap and tested a pixel watch. They were all the exact same. I was surprised. YMMV

Had one of these for years. Bands have to be replaced every year or so. You'll know it's time to replace when the unit doesn't get detected by the device you're trying to connect it to. Battery life is excellent as long as you detach the monitor from the strap between uses.

Replacement straps can be had for under $10.

I agree with other poster that the accuracy on this is significantly better than a watch, especially during running sessions. Stationary biking is comparable, but anything with impact seems to throw off my Samsung watch HR and makes it almost unusable.

It really depends on what you do. I noticed with running and other similar activities, most watches get close enough to the chest strap. Anything that involves some sort of load on your hands like weight lifting causes them to deviate much more from what the chest strap reports.
So far the Apple Watch Ultra 4 is the closest to the H10 when weight lifting/strength training in my experience.

Cool I just ordered a bicep/ankle strap for my pixel watch. I was testing the cheat strap for lifting, cause I wear wraps and stuff, but also did not like the feel and sweat was a problem. Hopefully this new strap works.

I also bought a Fitbit air and I've been using it the past week with a bicep strap. It's pretty darn close to the chest strap for accuracy but you practically forget that you're wearing it. It was a little weird feeling at first but by the 2nd day of wearing it I forgot I had it on until I was getting ready to shower before bed.
