This 52 inch Hart rolling tool cabinet stands out as a lot of storage for the money, with soft close drawers, included liners, and a keyed lock. The size and layout draw praise as a better fit than smaller Hart boxes, and the price looks strong versus Harbor Freight and Husky alternatives. Shipping is the main risk, though, with freight and ground deliveries sometimes arriving damaged or freight charges appearing in cart. It feels more entry level than truly heavy duty, so it suits basic homeowner and DIY use best.

Common Questions (5)

  • For this size, it is priced well below comparable Harbor Freight options and far below a heavy-duty Husky setup. The tradeoff is that the Harbor Freight US General and Husky boxes are generally considered better built, but they cost substantially more.

  • It can arrive perfectly, but shipping damage is a real risk. Some deliveries came in perfect shape on a pallet, while others arrived smashed, dragged, or mangled enough to require returns or refunds.

  • It is usable for homeowner and DIY storage, but it feels thinner and closer to an entry-level box than a true heavy-duty cabinet. Compared with US General and older Husky boxes, the steel and overall build are described as less robust.

  • Yes, the drawers come with liners and the cabinet has a keyed lock. One buyer also noted the drawers have soft-close action, which makes daily use feel smoother.

  • Yes, freight can be added at checkout even when the product page says free shipping. The lower and upper pieces reportedly share one shipping charge when bought together, with one order showing $50 total shipping.

Are the yukons nice? I guess I thought you had to get the US General ones at HF
I've got the Yukon with wooden top from HF and for my uses I love it. Comes with the drawer liners already installed. Doors close soft and tight. Wish I could have afforded a bigger US General, but at 300 the Yukon is great

This was $250 with shipping earlier this year. Much better deal. I might go harbor freight at this price. Estes delivered mine in perfect condition and opened the packaging for my wife to inspect.

It's a nice box.

*Correction - it was the 42" earlier this year.
Makes this deal better.

Would a Harbor Freight option a be better value?
Harbor Freight doesn't sell something with these dimensions. So there's not a 1:1 comparable example.

There's not anything they offer that's similarly sized at this price either.

A US General cabinet would almost certainly be better quality but cost more. Is that a better "value"? It depends.

I don't see this 52" Hart being on clearance (or SD) any time this year, just the 36". Getting a 52" at Harbor Freight isn't possible, they have a 56" US General that's $750 -on sale-(reg $899) so this is still a great deal for a tool chest this size.

Also if you buy the lower and upper you pay the shipping charge once, $50 for both shipped.

Thanks OP. I pulled the trigger on this. WIfe backed the golf cart into my 27" Hyper Tough tool cabinet about a month ago. I'd been eyeing the 52" Husky as an replacement, but seeing as it would've come out to $677 after taxes and delivery, this was a no brainer for me. It actually looks just like the Husky. I'm just a regular DIY'er/Homeowner, so I don't need the most loaded, feature packed tool cabinet out there. This is already light years better than the Hyper Tough it'll be replacing.

Wait for the 46" Yukon to go on sale from harbor freight. Same price but way better quality.
Sometimes they drop the price to 300 at harbor freight, maybe they do that again around black Friday? I bought the yukon for 300 a few months ago and it's very nice, doesn't seem to cut any corners.

Definitely.
Am I missing it or is there no 46 in yukon chest to go on top of the rolling cabinet?

I've been watching the heavy duty husky and this is 100 lbs lighter cause I was going to buy it but I'm worried it's going to be super flimsy. The husky heavy duty is 900+tax . I'm debating if it's worth the extra 300 dollars

Looks like that's the price now. Do they regularly go on sale? I am thinking of picking up something around black Friday

Deal or not FedEx is gonna beat the hell out of this and dump it on your doorstep
Bumper plates are beat to hell when shipped even though they're made to be dropped, FedEx finds a way to beat the hell out of them
Unless you can get this thing for $.10 on the dollar it's not worth the risk, you'll be sending it back and arguing with them to pick it up.
