That being said, if you're running a homelab virtualization environment, this deal is an absolute steal. I'm currently running a Synology DS1520+ primarily as network storage for my Proxmox host and its LXC containers. My Synology chokes at 1GbE speeds (~110 MB/s limit per stream). Upgrading to this TerraMaster would instantly boost my direct-connect storage line to 2.5GbE (~280 MB/s), cutting my container backup windows down by more than half.
The Intel N95 processor inside this model completely outclasses older Synology Celeron chips if you host heavy Docker containers directly. Plus, because it's standard x86 hardware, I can bypass TerraMaster's stock OS entirely, plug in a bootable USB, and run TrueNAS Scale or Unraid.
I'd pull the trigger on this right now if I could just easily hot-swap my current drives over - but migrating the data pool from Synology's file ecosystem over to a new system is the only thing giving me pause. If you aren't tied down to Synology's proprietary mobile apps, the hardware value here per dollar is unmatched.
Edit: Looks like OP fixed the pictures!
