Panasonic's ARC5 is praised as a very close, fast electric shave, with the Linear motor and four foil elements standing out against Braun and Norelco. Long-term durability can be excellent, with some units still running well after years of use, and the same original blade lasting a long time in lighter use. The main tradeoff is upkeep, since replacement foils and blades can be expensive and wear faster with thick facial hair or frequent shaving. Battery life also varies, with some getting only a few shaves per charge. A strong fit if close shave matters more than low maintenance.
Shavers who want a very close electric shave, because this model cuts closer than Braun and Norelco alternatives.
People replacing an older electric shaver, because the battery and heads can still be renewed after years of use.
Men with sparse facial hair who shave a small area daily, because the shaver can last about 10 years and the blades may never need replacing.
Frequent shavers with thick facial hair, because the trimmer helps when whiskers are long and the foil can handle several days between shaves.
Buyers who want low ongoing maintenance costs, because replacement blade and foil sets can be expensive.
Shavers who prefer faster passes over maximum closeness, because this model shaves more slowly than Braun even though it cuts closer.
Heavy-beard shavers who expect long blade life, because the foils and blades can wear out in 3 to 5 months with thick facial hair and frequent use.
People who want a shaver with long battery runtime, because a full charge may only cover about three shaves before needing recharge.

ChatGPT how much are replacement blade? OMG!!! 😱
- Norelco and all other spinning-circle shavers are worthless. I swear they pull hairs individually instead of shaving.
- The two best brands are the medium to high-end razors from Panasonic (anything with the "Linear" motor, which this one has) and Braun. Both brands have low-end versions that are not good.
- Panasonics shave closer, but more slowly, and the foils and blades wear out much more quickly.
- Brauns shave faster, but not quite as close as the Panasonics, and the foils and blades last 2-3x as long as Panasonic.
- I am sure that these two facts are related: a thinner foil allows a closer shave but wears out faster.
All foils and blades will last much longer if you lube them with a bead of mineral oil once every week or two.Hope this helps!

If you don't have much that much facial hair and just mustache and facial hair on your chin, this will shave even better than a regular norelco shaver?
If I don't shave for a few weeks, typically shaving with the norelco shaver will get stuck when shaving. But this doesn't happen that much with this panasonic or it still does?

Price varies a lot depending on the seller. Be careful on ebay, as a lot of the blade/foil sets are Chinese fakes which don't shave nearly as well as the originals.
Both the Panasonic and Braun have a trimmer on the back. If you didn't shave for weeks, the whiskers will be too long and you'll need to use the trimmer first. When I had a Norelco I could only go about two days before it started pulling hairs out. With the Braun or Panasonic I can go several more days. Even then they won't pull the hairs out like the Norelco. They'll just start leaving unshaved hairs behind, and you'll have to go back in with the clippers.
