I've had two Altec Lansing speakers fail. It's a hard nope for me. They sounded ok, but you're better off getting something from a more reputable brand at this price point

This is yet another name brand that got bought out by a Chinese company to sell unreliable junk to the gullible Western world. But they got discovered and didnt sell, so now their junk wound up on slickdeals... with the rest of the junk being passed off by shills. Its the last stop, before hauling it all off to the garbage dump, before having to pay for another months rent to warehouse it all. 🙄

If you want something that is super loud with really deep bass get the onn xl party speaker . It's on sale at Walmart . Can't beat that price. Comes with 2 wireless mics also. 169 is a steal for it

The Onn XL party speaker is almost 50lbs! Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

The smaller Onn Large party speaker is "just" 22lbs.

This Altek is 12lbs which is about the same as a JBL Boombox 4 or Tribit Blast. I am guessing the Tribit blast would toast the Altek in a shootout and that most people would be better served by a lighter Soundcore Boom2 Plus/pro or smaller 5lb Tribit Lava that is on sale for $100. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzFltKBlulc

You're wrong as there two more stops before the garbage dump: Woot! and Haul. Then the dump...

Wow, that is sad. I've been using a set of their computer speakers for 16 years, no issues. Was ready to jump on this.

Do not buy anything from Altec Lansing. Pure crap and won't stand behind their product. I had one of their top of the line Speakers blow after 1 1/2 years. They said the warranty was over and the speaker cannot be repaired. Basically became a $300 paper weight until I finally admitted to myself that I got ripped off and threw it away.

Very True. They pretty much stopped making decent speakers back in 2000 when they were bought by Sparkomatic aka known as (Sparks and Static). Their computer speakers were OK but even Logitech usually made better sounding options. Unfortunately the Audio industry has become a cesspool of corporate consolidation and name brand dilution (much like almost all corporate consolidation). I don't think Hedge fund acquisitions or Corporate Consolidations have ever once been beneficial for customers, prices, workers or quality. And now that everyone makes their personal data and spending so readily available to our corporate overlords just to save $1 on a Big Mac, just wait until A.I. dynamic pricing becomes more widespread. We think everything sucks now, just wait for those awesome A.I. data centers to squeeze your last penny from your pocket and deposit it in one of five or six Billionaires pockets. Fun times we're living in.
