The Ninja Creami Deluxe is praised for turning out Italian ice and ice cream with a texture that can be improved by remixing, high fat bases, and add ins like gums or protein. Refurb units from Woot have arrived looking and operating like new for some purchases, and Woot has handled returns and refunds when units failed. The main cautions are reliability and durability, with reports of units not powering on, needing replugging, or grinding through gears and spindles. Cleanup is also described as awkward because the spindle area is hard to clean.
Common Questions (5)
The refurb comes with a 90-day warranty, and Woot has handled returns and refunds for defective units, including prepaid labels and full refunds after inspection. That said, some buyers prefer Costco's higher price because it includes an extra tub and a stronger return guarantee.
Some refurbished units have arrived looking and operating like new, and one buyer said theirs was indistinguishable from new at this exact $99.99 price. The practical upside is a big discount versus retail, but the downside is that refurb reliability can be hit-or-miss on appliances.
Yes. Reported failures include the machine not powering on, needing to be replugged, shaving through its own gears or spindle, and in one case producing metal shavings after resistance during churning. There is also no effective fail-safe shutdown when the mix is too hard.
It can make very good Italian ice and ice cream, and it also works well for creamier results when the base is high-fat and gets an extra remix spin. Adding xanthan or guar gum can reduce iciness, and some users build protein-heavy or lower-sugar bases with coconut cream, kefir, dates, or maple syrup.
Not fully. The self-cleaning cycle does not clean the spindle area completely, and residue can remain around the spindle and inside the housing where it is difficult or impossible to reach by hand.

It's seems it's quite common to have this happen. The other worst part is that if it shaves through the blade gears one can replace the blade. But many times it shaves is own spindle and at that point the machine is useless because there is no replacing the spindle.
And the single worst piece of invention because of the effort it took in the prep for making the ice cream and then wait for 1 day in the freezer and then you get a quart of whatever ice cream to eat.
I'm not a proponent of store bought ice cream, but in this case the whole prep and clean up and wait time is ridiculous for the machine to churn the stuff for 2 mins, and that too not faultless.
If it breaks down at 100k miles then I'd just get a new car.

I bought mine from woot before it lasted just over a month. I had to quote woots own warranty terms to them because they weren't wanting to refund me
