I'm always wary of these things because of the battery, when it dies you just have to throw it away. And the corded ones are usually more powerful.

I bought their hair clipper set back in February for a similar price. I fully charged them a few weeks after receiving them and then used them once a month to cut both my son's hair and my own. The main large clipper still has 50% battery life remaining on that single charge. I am really impressed. The cutting results are also very good, similar to the corded ones if not better, but with the convenience of cordless. While I'm not sure about the long-term durability of the mechanical components, I haven't noticed any drop in performance so far. This brand has won me over; perhaps there's an element of blind trust involved—but looking back, I've certainly spent more money on big-name brands based on that same kind of trust, only to end up with products that weren't any better.

This thread has some really odd mix of a couple of people who brought this or a close version and gave it good genuine sounding reviews, and some bot sounding people saying "giving it a try". Not sure how to feel about it. Looking to use it to maintain hair cut.

Solati isn't a name brand in the same way Remington or Braun is. It's a word an importer decided to put on their listing and possibly boxes to differentiate themselves from the other people doing same thing.

They're all coming from the same handful of Shenzhen factories. When you click on those listing on ali, you need to look at all the options. A cursory glance at the search page might not put that exact one in front of you. Several options in most listings.

There is a huge range of quality and prices on AliExpress. I also don't even see anything that seems comparable for $5. Most of the $5 clippers are actually something else if you actually click into the listings. Anyway, these are obviously Chinese clippers, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them on AliExpress (though I don't actually see them.) But I don't believe that you're getting these or anything comparable for $5.
