Community Reviews
ThermoMaven's HT04 is a fast, accurate instant read thermometer that punches well above its price, with a bright easy to read display, strong magnets, a hold button, a bottle opener, and auto rotating screen. It also supports self calibration, uses AAA batteries, and carries a lifetime warranty when registered online. The main caveats are that the included battery is cheap, some units have arrived with display issues, and a few tests found it slower than the fastest premium models. A very capable everyday kitchen tool for the money.
Common Questions (5)
It's reported to read in about 1 second to 2-3 seconds and to be very accurate, with several users saying it matches Thermapen readings or another thermometer exactly. One testing report found it could take much longer to settle on an actual temperature, so it may be fast enough for cooking but not ideal for slower, more exact use cases.
It includes a strong magnet, a built-in bottle opener, a hanging hole, a Hold button, auto-rotating screen for left-handed use, and AAA battery power that also works with NiMH rechargeables. It's also described as larger and easier to read than some other instant-read thermometers.
For home use, it's repeatedly described as very close to a Thermapen in performance while costing a fraction of the price. Some users say the Thermapen has better build quality, ergonomics, or slightly faster response, but the ThermoMaven is still considered a strong everyday backup or primary kitchen thermometer.
Yes, the thermometer has a lifetime warranty when registered online. The warranty applies to the thermometers, and registration is required to activate it.
Yes, it has a self-calibration feature. The described process uses an ice bath with distilled water, then holding the C°/F° and Hold buttons for 5 seconds until it flashes SUC; ERR means the calibration should be repeated.

let alone most people likely don't realize you need to test the thermometer 5x more because it's cheap. so there's probably hundreds of these out there people are using that are not showing the correct temperature.
I wouldn't call it a Slickdeal to buy a cheap poor quality product for a little less

It's sad to see how someone can be tricked into being so gullible and easily suckered into throwing away money on a thermometer that doesn't even have a way to hang it on a hook or attach it to a metal surface. But for the low price of $16 you can purchase a silicone cover that has a magnet on it. Thermomaven has been in business long enough that If there were any problems by now we would have long ago heard about it. In the hundreds of reviews I've read, I have not once heard any complaints about inaccurate temperature readings. My Thermomaven will be accurately working far longer than yours if only for the lifetime warranty I have with mine vs. a five year warranty with yours. But keep listening to the YouTube shills and "muh Michelin star chefs" spouting off on their paid for advertising. Hahahahaha!
