ThermoMaven's instant read thermometer stands out as a fast, easy to read kitchen tool for checking meat and other cooking tasks. The compact body has strong magnets, a hold feature, a built in bottle opener, auto rotating screen, and AAA battery support, and it is praised for accuracy and quick readings. The lifetime warranty requires online registration, and the included battery is worth removing if it will sit unused for a while. At around $7, it is a handy low cost backup or everyday thermometer.

  • The thermometer can be accurate and easy to read after extended ownership.

  • The thermometer can deliver super-fast readings that help prevent overcooking steak at home.

  • The device includes strong magnets and a screen auto-rotate feature for easier grill and left-handed use.

  • The thermometer offers a self-calibration routine using ice and distilled water for temperature accuracy checks.

  • The included battery can leak and corrode terminals if it sits unused for a while.

  • The thermometer may require frequent recalibration, which can make cheap instant-read models less trustworthy.

  • The thermometer's waterproof rating can vary by model, and one variant is not intended for full submersion.

  • The thermometer can perform poorly compared with other instant-read thermometers, making it feel like a paperweight.

I think I bought this the last time it was around $6. The magnet holds on to the fridge door easily and securely. I even used the bottle opener on it and it worked. Can't beat it for the price.

If you're referring to the Thermoworks Thermopen as being a quality thermometer, please tell us why you think it's so much better than this Thermomaven F1 Turbo. The F1 Turbo does some things better and has more features than the Thermopen. Such as a magnet, a hole for hanging, a bottle opener, and a hold button. The F1 Turbo can be recalibrated if it becomes unreliable. I understand you're looking for reasons to justify spending $ 100+ on a thermometer. But in this case, the YouTube shills who shamelessly promote this in exchange for free product or payment are wrong. You can get fifteen of these for what one Thermapen costs. There's simply no reason to buy a Thermapen anymore.
it needs recalibrated a LOT more due to inferior internals. that's time. time is money friend.

let alone most people likely don't realize you need to test the thermometer 5x more because it's cheap. so there's probably hundreds of these out there people are using that are not showing the correct temperature.

I wouldn't call it a Slickdeal to buy a cheap poor quality product for a little less

You're inventing reasons why your poor buying decisions should make sense. You're living in a fantasy world if you think your $100 Thermopen is in any way superior to the Thermomaven, my guy. They both have nearly identical thermocouple probes inside the tip. There are a lot of inferior instant read thermometers out there , but the Thermomaven isn't one of them.
It's sad to see how someone can be tricked into being so gullible and easily suckered into throwing away money on a thermometer that doesn't even have a way to hang it on a hook or attach it to a metal surface. But for the low price of $16 you can purchase a silicone cover that has a magnet on it. Thermomaven has been in business long enough that If there were any problems by now we would have long ago heard about it. In the hundreds of reviews I've read, I have not once heard any complaints about inaccurate temperature readings. My Thermomaven will be accurately working far longer than yours if only for the lifetime warranty I have with mine vs. a five year warranty with yours. But keep listening to the YouTube shills and "muh Michelin star chefs" spouting off on their paid for advertising. Hahahahaha!

Says who? You're dreaming. Sorry you wasted $100 on a over hyped name brand.

Bought one of these and it's not even close to the other two thermopros that I have. This thing is a paperweight at best.
