Medium avocados are showing an unusually low Amazon Grocery price in some areas, with checkout examples around 25 to 26 cents and occasional reports of 33 cents or $1.25 depending on location and seller. The deal can work as a bulk buy for smoothies or guacamole, with orders of 20 or even 100 avocados mentioned. Amazon Grocery delivery appears to be free overnight in some carts, but a $3.99 delivery fee can also appear and make the offer less appealing. A solid pickup when the local price lands at the low end.
Households in markets where the grocery price is around a quarter, because the avocado can ring up at $0.25 to $0.26.
Smoothie makers buying avocados in bulk, because 20 avocados can cost $5 and work well for blending.
Guacamole batch-cookers stocking up for months, because 100 avocados can cost $25 with free delivery.
Texas shoppers near a Randalls who can use rewards coupons, because medium avocados can drop to $0.33 with no minimum purchase.
Shoppers who need a predictable delivered total, because a $3.99 delivery fee can erase the savings on a small order.
Buyers in Bay Area stores expecting the Amazon-sold price, because it can show up as $1.25 sold by Whole Foods instead.
People wanting a simple overnight grocery delivery, because the order can arrive in a four-hour window and may not suit perishables.

How does it work? It's not an Amazon Fresh order, and it looks like a regular shipping order when I added it to cart. Will they come in a regular Amazon cardboard box or in paper bags like Amazon Fresh? Are they temperature controlled during shipment?
Update:
Looks like it's an Amazon Grocery order with free overnight delivery (4 hour window), which could arrive when I'm still sleeping. Should only order non-perishable items, I guess.
