Solid deal at $1,100 if you specifically want the Alienware chassis and display. The RTX 5060 should handle 1440p gaming well, and the 165Hz 2K screen is a nice match for the GPU. My main hesitation is the 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD, both of which feel a little light for a gaming laptop in late 2026. There have also been some aggressively priced RTX 5060 laptops lately from Lenovo and Acer that offer more storage or higher-wattage GPU implementations for similar money. Still, if you value build quality, thermals, and the Alienware design, this looks like a reasonable buy rather than a screaming hot deal.

It's 1200p, which is a good match for the 5060. Not many choices at the moment at $1100, if you must buy now it's decent. I'd rather have the OLED Lenovo but that's $300 more.
Magnesium chassis, which is nice. As an owner of ~8 Alienware laptops over the last few decades, let me provide some insight:
The AMD machines can struggle from STAPM issues, relating to thermal throttling before they even hit maximum temp. This throttling can dip the FPS by half for extended periods. There are ways around this with sideloading bios changes, but be warned that AMD processors usually can't be undervolted. Intel machines are more friendly as a whole. I cannot speak to this specific machine/processor, but the AMD options are known to be more problematic and Alienware will only offer replacements while in warranty, while not actually fixing the firmware problem. The solutions are usually provided by the community and can take time. In my case, it took over a year for a community side-loaded bios fix to come available, while Dell (Alienware) continued to patch their bios's (irreversible) and make the issue worse. On launch, the laptop was good, but they locked the bios down and made the issue worse. Their support did not and still does not care. Their Discord and Reddit are mostly ran by a community mod who is a complete asshole.
