Hydroflask, Stanley, Owala... what is next? Aren't they all just water bottles? I see a bunch of Hydroflask and Stanley on clearance at Ross.

The straw definitely falls out, but I don't think it's any harder to clean than any other water bottle. Also I've had ice last 24 hours. It's fine as far as insulated bottles go.

The Owala FreeSip stands out for its convenient sip and pour cap, integrated straw, and easy refills through the larger opening near the straw feed. The 24 ounce size is paired with a handle and a design that fits in a cup holder, and the bottle has enough appeal that it becomes the daily carry for some. Cold retention is the main tradeoff, with ice lasting anywhere from under 12 hours to about 24 hours depending on use. Durability and cleaning also draw complaints about the straw, hinge, and multiple parts, making it a handy bottle with some reliability questions.

  • Ice retention can reach about 24 hours in some use cases.

  • The sip/pour cap with integrated straw makes drinking and refilling feel convenient during daily use.

    JJACEW

  • The larger opening near the straw feed can allow refilling without unscrewing the top.

    YaoY3699

  • The bottle can keep working after more than a year of regular use.

    sdenver

  • Cold retention can fall short of a full school day even when starting with mostly ice.

    iIIuminatitrimaniac

  • The straw can fall off inside the bottle over time, creating a maintenance issue.

    iIIuminatiDerangedLoofah

  • Multiple parts can be hard to clean, including areas involving rubber components.

    iIIuminati

  • The handle and hinge can be failure points when the bottle is dropped.

This water bottle is overrated. I know because our family own at least 10 of them because my kids keep losing them at school and they follow the Owala trend.- the straw will fall off inside the bottle over time- too many part to clean and if you lift the rubber part out, yuck- the handle and hinge will be the first to break if kid keep dropping them couple time.- worst cold bottle ever. Doesn't even last 5 hours of school day. I make sure to load them with 80% ice and it still melted all at 1:30 PM- btw it not recommend to use hot beverage because of all the plastic partI use my bottle from Marshall and Ross. My kids will continue using these until they all broke, we won't buy them again.

Love owala. I need my emotional support water bottle.
It's hard to find a good color though but Joshua Tree looks good.
Just wanted to note it says shipping is Oct 31-Nov 15 if that makes a difference to anyone else.

Could be me, but I really like the larger hole near the straw feed. I could refill my water bottle without having to unscrew the top.

How the fook can a water bottle be overrated? It's a a hydration device. Besides, this one actually makes drinking water easy.

Owala is an overhyped fad with multiple failure points and just overall a poor durability product. Swell and Yeti are the best options for a durable bottle with premium cold retention
