What would the point of 4000A peak current be? It's well beyond what might be useful to jump start an automobile?

"The peak amp figure printed on a jump starter's box is often the least useful number for deciding whether it can actually start your car. It measures a maximum current burst lasting a fraction of a second, not the sustained current a battery needs to crank an engine. What actually determines whether a jump starter is sized correctly is closer to Cold Cranking Amps and the engine's displacement, not the biggest number on the packaging."

This one has a 800amp (3 secs), then 500 amp (5 secs).

Thanks for your post. When shopping for a good jump starter, where are those numbers found and how are they calculated? How can a shopper compare one from another from product listings or other sources to see which is the best choice? Thanks.

By watching review videos rather than relying on potentially BS figures posted by manufacturers.
Project Farm does a good video on these jump starters

What is the difference between this model (with the "Plus" designation) and the regular GP4000?

Here's an updated AI description of the GP4000 and GP4000 Plus from a different AI, which seems more correct than the previous one I posted here:

Based on a thorough search of Gooloo's official product lineup and current market listings, here is the breakdown of the differences between the regular **Gooloo GP4000** and the **"GP4000 Plus"**:

### 1. Official Model Lineup
Gooloo's official US catalog **does not currently list a "GP4000 Plus" model**. The core 4000A jump starters in their official lineup are the **GP4000**, **GT4000**, and **GT4000S** [[31]], [[73]].

### 2. What is the "GP4000 Plus"?
In some international markets (such as Europe, Russia, and AliExpress), third-party sellers occasionally list a "Gooloo GP4000 Plus" [[51]], [[97]]. In almost all cases, this is one of the following:
* **A Regional Naming Variant**: The exact same hardware as the standard GP4000, just marketed with a "Plus" name in certain regions.
* **A Bundle Deal**: The standard GP4000 packaged with extra accessories (like a fast wall charger or an EVA storage box, which the official GP4000 already includes by default) [[12]], [[82]].
* **A Mislabeled "S" Model**: Sometimes sellers incorrectly use "Plus" when referring to the upgraded **GP4000S** or **GT4000S** models.

### 3. Core Specifications Comparison
Where a "GP4000 Plus" is listed by third-party sellers, its core jump-starting specifications are **identical** to the regular GP4000:
* **Peak Current**: 4000A (both models)
* **Battery Capacity**: ~20,000 to 24,000 mAh (or 74Wh–88.8Wh, depending on the manufacturer's voltage calculation method) [[90]], [[97]], [[111]]
* **Engine Compatibility**: Up to 10.0L gas and diesel engines [[31]]
* **Safety**: 10-layer SUPERSAFE protection with spark-proof smart clamps [[31]]

### 4. Are There Actual Upgraded Models?
If you are looking for a version of the GP4000 with genuine hardware upgrades, you should look at the **GT4000** or **GT4000S**. According to Gooloo's official FAQs, the GT series surpasses the base GP4000 with the following features [[28]]:
* **Intelligent Pre-heating Technology**: Allows for reliable starts in extreme cold (down to -40°F for the GT4000) [[25]].
* **100W Fast Charging**: Supports PD100W/SC100W max speed charging, allowing the unit to recharge much faster than the base GP4000 [[10]].
* **Enhanced Durability**: IP65 water resistance with sealed ports (GT series) [[28]].
* **Informative LED Screen**: A 3.2" display for better status visibility [[28]].

### Summary Recommendation
If you are looking at a listing for a "GP4000 Plus," check the fine print. If it lists 4000A and ~20,000 mAh, it is functionally the same device as the regular GP4000. Do not pay a premium for the "Plus" name unless it includes valuable extra accessories (like a 100W wall charger or a tire inflator bundle). If you want true next-generation features like fast charging and extreme cold-weather performance, look for the **GT4000S** instead.

Thanks, I've found Project Farm to be great info, but it seems the rest of the usual YT "reviews" by other "reviewers" are not comparisons and actual real life usage, but just the "reviewer" pointing out the features and how good the reviewer wants them to be so people click the links and get them the commission.

Also, unfortunately PF does not regularly update reviews for when newer models come out so we can compare between the old and the new. But it's a good start. (No pun intended).

AI says the following but don't know if it's accurate because the Plus model in this deal does not seem to have a digital screen on it:Both the GOOLOO GP4000 and the GOOLOO GP4000 Plus (often listed as the"Upgraded" GP4000) are heavy-duty, high-capacity jump starters capable ofstarting almost any consumer vehicle on the road.Because they share the same core power specs, the differences come down to userinterface, convenience features, and the jumper cables. Here is the breakdown of the differences between the two models:1. Battery Level Display (The Biggest Difference) - GP4000 (Standard): Uses a basic LED indicator system. It has 4 small blue lights to tell you the battery level (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%). You have to guess exactly how much juice is left. - GP4000 Plus: Features a digital LCD screen on the front of the unit. This screen gives you an exact numerical readout of your battery percentage (e.g., 87%), making it much easier to know when it is time to recharge the unit.2. The Smart Jumper Clamps - GP4000 (Standard): Comes with standard smart clamps. The box on the cables uses simple Red and Green LED lights to let you know if the connection is correct and ready to jump. - GP4000 Plus: Comes with upgraded Smart Clamps with a built-in screen. When you connect these clamps to your car battery, the little screen on the cable box will actually display your car battery's current voltage. It will also display specific error codes (like "ERR" for reverse polarity) instead of just flashing lights.3. Charging Speeds (Depending on generation) - GP4000 (Standard): Features a standard USB-C in/out port (usually 15W). It takes quite a few hours to recharge the massive battery from 0 to 100%. - GP4000 Plus: Many of the "Plus" or upgraded versions feature improved USB-C Power Delivery (PD) fast-charging capabilities, allowing the unit to recharge significantly faster if you use a high-wattage wall adapter. What stays exactly the SAME? - Peak Current: Both push out a massive 4000 Amps of peak power. - Engine Capacity: Both will jump-start up to a 10.0L Gas or 10.0L Diesel engine. They will easily start standard cars, heavy-duty trucks, RVs, and tractors. - Battery Capacity: Both house a massive ~26,800mAh (99Wh) battery, meaning you can jump-start a car dozens of times on a single charge. - Extra Features: Both include an ultra-bright LED flashlight, dual USB-A ports to charge your phone/tablet, and a 15V DC output port to power things like 12V air compressors or car vacuums.Summary Verdict: Which should you buy?If they are close in price, buy the GP4000 Plus. The digital LCD screen takesthe guesswork out of knowing how much battery you have left, and the voltagereader on the jumper cables is an excellent diagnostic tool to figure out ifyour car battery is truly dead or if you have another mechanical issue. However, if the standard GP4000 is on a steep discount, it provides the exactsame jumping power and reliability, just with fewer "bells and whistles."(Note: If you are looking for an even bigger upgrade, look at the GOOLOO GT4000.That is GOOLOO's completely redesigned next-generation model that includes amassive 3.2-inch screen, 100W ultra-fast charging, and special pre-heatingtechnology for extreme winter weather).
GP4000 says its battery is 24000mah too
