This Jamo bundle is a budget home theater setup that delivers big, room filling sound and a clear step up from soundbars or TV speakers. The towers are the standout, with strong clarity, deeper bass, and good performance for movies, TV, and even music. The surrounds also get praise, and the system is easy to drive with a decent receiver. The center and sub are the weak links, and the Atmos modules depend heavily on room layout. It is a solid value if you want a full speaker package and can tune around the compromises.

  • Movie fans building a first real surround system, because the towers and center deliver clear dialogue and a big upgrade over soundbars or TV speakers.

  • Living-room listeners who want fuller room-filling sound, because the towers provide a wide, clear presentation that fills the room nicely.

  • Home theater buyers who want strong value from one complete kit, because the package is easy to drive and performs well for the money.

  • Gamers and TV watchers who want punchy surround effects, because the surround speakers are lively and the system improves spatial clarity.

  • Rooms that cannot support proper speaker placement, because the Atmos modules can be weak or useless depending on layout.

  • Buyers who expect a strong subwoofer out of the box, because the included sub is repeatedly described as weak and poorly tuned.

  • Shoppers who want a polished center channel without upgrades, because the center is weak and can lag behind the towers.

  • Music-first listeners who want a system tuned for critical stereo listening, because the speakers are described as not tuned for music.

What's the weak point... Sub or center? I've seen both mentioned as weak points of this setup.
Sub and center are definite weak points, but they always will be at this price point. The upfiring speakers also range somewhere between a rarely used gimmick and completely useless, depending on the layout of your room and your coping skills.

I think this series of speaker is decent value for the money, but this particular set comes up often at this price and is right where it should be for MSRP. The S81 center in this bundle has always felt particularly out of place next to the S809 towers. They really can't even throw in the *slightly* better S83 to try to help the center channel keep up a little more?

But a "good" sub and center alone cost more than this entire bundle unless you find some kind of great local used deal, so I see the appeal for someone who just wants to buy one kit and be done with it.

I've been waiting for this, thank you. This is likely the best value for performance, with anything better coming much higher.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

I bought all of these speakers in 2022 individually and certainly paid more overall. I'm also no audiophile but these speakers have elevated my TV/movie watching experience by orders of magnitude. Pair this with a decent receiver and it would make for a worthy upgrade for anybody.

This vs the energy classics that also come up on sale from time to time?
These are different beasts: budget full tower setup vs mid-range satellites + sub. Looking at the measurements and reviews, maybe the easiest way to say it would be "more sound" vs. "better sound". Satellites won't produce much below their rolloff, which is maybe 120Hz. Which is right depends on you, your room, and what you'll be doing with it.

I have the same, been like 5+ years now and they work great for the price (minus the two atmos).
are you saying the atmos don't work? or that you don't have them?

Me too. But a lot more room required for all these boxes.

Sub by far. Center is weak, but usable with some tuning from your receiver. The sub won't make you feel things like you want a sub to do no matter how you set the receiver.

I still have my Onkyo TX-NR656 from 2017. Will this be enough to push this set?
