Community Reviews
This Jamo bundle is a budget home theater setup that delivers big, room filling sound and a clear step up from soundbars or TV speakers. The towers are the standout, with strong clarity, deeper bass, and good performance for movies, TV, and even music. The surrounds also get praise, and the system is easy to drive with a decent receiver. The center and sub are the weak links, and the Atmos modules depend heavily on room layout. It is a solid value if you want a full speaker package and can tune around the compromises.
Common Questions (5)
This bundle is a 5.1.2 Atmos setup, so it needs an Atmos-capable 7.2 receiver. The speakers are easy to drive, so a reasonable used or refurbished AVR with the right features is usually enough.
They can add to the sound profile when properly implemented, but their impact depends heavily on room layout and receiver setup. In some rooms they are useful, while in others they are described as barely noticeable or not worth prioritizing over better L/C/R speakers.
This is a full tower-based home theater setup, so it delivers more sound and usually better clarity and spatial effects than a soundbar or compact satellite package. The tradeoff is more space, more setup work, and the need for a receiver and tuning.
It is strong for home theater and TV/movies, with clear dialogue and a big upgrade over built-in TV speakers or a soundbar. It can also sound good for music, but it is not tuned primarily for music listening.
Yes. The subwoofer is repeatedly described as the weakest part, and the S81 center is usable but not a standout; the towers do most of the heavy lifting. Many buyers would prioritize a better sub and center later if budget allows.

The towers are hands down the best part of the kit. Let's ignore the price point, the sound is full, there's a luxurious amount of clarity and the tuning fills the room nicely.
The center is mid. It does aid in treble but other than that I wouldn't bother to wire it in.
The surround speakers are also surprisingly good. Nice and punchy for good home cinema and gaming.
The sub though... Nah. It's what brings the value of the set down. It's so awful. The response and port tuning is really bad. The towers give me deeper richer bass with more accurate response in comparison to the shallow sub. This reminds me, I need to submit a warranty claim. The internal sub amp died after only an hours use.
My recommendation, buy the set and sell the sub on marketplace or eBay immediately.
In general terms, if quality is the main priority a traditional setup like this is probably the better option.
If convenience and aesthetics is high then a soundbar may be the better compromised option.
Keep in mind, a traditional setup requires some work for optimal performance.
This is also considered an entry/budget friendly option.
There will be varying opinions on how good quality this is also.
Soundbars have come a long ways and their perceived performance may be a worthwhile compromise for some.

So you would technically need a "Atmos" ready 7.2 receiver.
These are very easy to drive so any reasonable receiver will do.
I would suggest going used or refurbished.
Just find one that has the features you need.
TBH I would skip using the S8s, saves you even more on the receiver.
The extra money can go to upgrading the subwoofer.
Imo that would make more of impact/upgrade than the S8s.
