So it's a Chinese knockoff of a Moccamaster?

I've seen a flood of these recently. Someone told me that it's because the patents on the MoccaMaster design expired.

I guess the good thing is that it does say it's SCA-certified. You don't just get that for free by ripping off another design; it requires independent evaluation:

So yes, it's a glorified MoccaMaster rip-off. But if all you care about is getting a good cup of coffee for cheap, it might not be too bad.

German-origin brand, French parent company, Chinese-made brewer. Lots of plastic I can imagine

Wished they made one without all that plastic. Even my Moccamaster has a plastic filter cup/basket (whatever one calls it).

I dislike the copy and steal business model. Come up with your own look. Trying to copy a classic design at that price point just looks cheap and pathetic to me.
