Curious to see serious reviews on this. I saw it advertised somewhere else, it's intriguing but with what phones and apps offer nowadays, it's gotta be pretty robust or have something worthwhile to get me to use it.

Seems like a good iPod clone. Anyone has comments on this?

If anyone is interested in jumping on this, spend the extra 40 bucks for four times the storage.

I know. We've got our phones that can do all this. Why do we want a dedicated player?

One reason people go for devices like this one is for the experience of listening to music with no interruptions or distractions. No phone calls, no notifications, just a little break away from the world to enjoy some of your favorite tunes.

Another reason is battery anxiety. It's a real thing from some people. The ability to listen to music without worrying about running your phone battery down can bring peace of mind and absence of worry.

The third reason isn't really a factor at this price point, but higher end digital audio players have much better quality DACs and other components than are found in phones and the listening experience can be much better with the right source material.

Fosi is a respected Chinese audio brand and isn't fly by night. You could do a lot worse than this one if you're looking for something inexpensive.

So, it doesn't support high fidelity sound? I see there are other brands that sell less than <$40 with HiFi sound.

For the "use your phone" crowd - putting flac on an iPhone is a pain. It takes up space (a premium these days). And for those who listen to music at work, it's nice not having constant text dings or worrying about a phone call going across your Bluetooth speaker.

I like these DAP's because I pop the sd card out, reload and unload music via Explorer, and move on. Phone stays in the pocket

I'd suggest Fiio Shanling or HiBy if you value audio quality TBH.
