The prices have really gone up since 2024. I remember paying for a brand new Asus TUF A16 with a 7700s less than $700.
Asus machines are nice, but line developed a trackpad issue after 8 or 9 months which made it unusable because it would not register the inputs correctly. Not a big deal for me, since I prefer to use a mouse anyway.

Interesting machine.

Integrated graphics that approaches 4060 performance levels but can use a significant amount of the shared 32GB of system RAM.

It's still a long ways behind Apple silicon for local llm performance, and even then you'd want more RAM.

Hard to love it at this price point. For gaming I'd much rather have a discrete GPU like a 5060 or 5070 at a lower cost.

The screen and chassis are solid, but not spectacular in line with the Asus Tuff series, so you're really paying a premium price for a high power CPU and iGPU that almost matches the gaming performance of a good CPU and a good discrete GPU.
