Duct tape is a permanent tape that holds strong an leaves horrible residue if removed. Gaffers tape is a tape invented for quick removal and no residue that has a medium hold. Used for securing cables to the ground and mic/headset wires to the back so they don't show in the front or get caught on things. I use Gaffers for these uses plus internet wires so I don't have to put holes in the wall when I run cables around door frames so I don't trip on them. Check your reviews before purchasing. 4.4 star Gaffers tape doesn't have the same reviews as 4.6 star. 4.4/5 vs 4.6/5 is the difference between the percentage of people who are trying a niche product for the first time and saying "this idea could take off but could be upgraded slightly" and the point 2 difference is us who work in studios for decades an the product isn't a new idea that could take off; but it could be slightly better.
