I'm trying to switch to the Milwaukee ecosystem and get rid of my DeWalt tools (of which I don't have too many). Would this be a good place to start? Should I wait until Black Friday and just get a few of the things that I need the most? A circular saw, drill and or impact driver, and orbital sander are most important to me.... Also wouldn't hate a jigsaw. Would love any advice on whether to get this or wait. Thank you!

Out of curiosity why are you making the switch? Isn't Dewalt considered just as premium a brand as Milwaukee?

If I'm not in hurry, I will wait at least the return window covers Black Friday.

Im checking home depot's return policy and its 90 days, so it would cover black friday.

I'm considering getting this toolskit but keep hearing that ryobi is good for noncontractor usage

My impression is that DeWalt was previously a premium brand but is in decay, private equity hollowing out style. Milwaukee seems more hip and like they give a shit to make good quality products and engage with their community. Also, their yard tools are high quality and use the same batteries so I can get rid of my second battery ecosystem (greenworks, which I do not like) and just have one

3 out of 7 are brushless (ignoring the "brushless" light)
4 out of 7 are not. Of those...

The multi-tool doesn't matter a ton.
The sawzall is would benefit, but it's a light duty 'branch cutter' IMO
The circular saw and impact are night and day different vs. the brushed versions, especially with HO/Forge batteries.
2 smaller 'PWR2' level batteries, charger, 2 bags. Meh.

Overall it's not a terrible deal if you need all the tools. Personally, I'd go Greenworks/HT for budget DIY and just get the specific (brushless) tools I need. Much cheaper and the quality is surprisingly good for most of them. NGL - I'm jealous of the bi-directional USB-C charging.

Otherwise, I'd individually shop deals for brushless Milwaukee with HO/Forge batteries for any serious projects and long term use.

Milwaukee is the professional grade toolkit with stronger components, better battery life, and higher torque. But DeWalt is supposedly more highly regarded for specific woodworking use cases, where the precision of their tools outweighs the performance boost. I've only used Milwaukee, so I can't speak to DeWalt personally, but DeWalt is definitely cheaper and probably fine for anyone who isn't a contractor/professional.

As a Dewalt user, I can tell you that comparable sets to this, maybe you're right. The "flagship" tools keep up and surpass Milwaukee. I like Milwaukee's specialty tools but I prefer my dewalt on the daily
