Slim ice packs are far worse than "standard" ones. More surface area per volume means they defrost fast.

These aren't too bad, they stay cool for 10-12 hours in an insulated lunch bag.

But It also means that the food gets cold faster, minimizing time in the "danger zone." This can make a safety difference if you put in room temperature food, e.g. sandwiches. Larger surface area means more thermal absorption, which means faster cooling.

Bought. They are tile sized. You can buy larger ones for $2 Walmart. I think these are going to defrost quickly. Much too small

Super ironic everyone doesn't like the size and that's the selling point of these. Of course you can buy thicker ones that hold cold longer. These, however, fit in thinner lunch boxes and spaces thicker ones won't. I have a set of these and they're fantastic for my kids' lunchboxes allowing them to still have more food without having a cinderblock ice pack and less food.

been using these for my lunch bag for a while now and they are great. They take up very little space and keep my lunch cold till I'm ready. I hate those brick ones now.
