That's a HUGE maybe. The rods might be fine for learning but the overall experience may just be more headache for you. I bought three of the spincaster versions of these rods for my three sub 8 year olds and the reels were trash from the get go. Constant tangles, line jumping off the spool, drag has zero adjustment, it's either full on or full off. Ended up swapping them for three Zebco 33 reels. Spinning reels at baseline are more prone to issues at baseline, can't imagine these combos would be a good experience.
