This Samsung Crystal UHD is a budget big screen that works best for general TV watching, especially when paired with an Apple TV or other streamer. The picture is described as fine to decent for the price, and Costco's included extended warranty adds value. The main tradeoffs are the 60 hertz panel, which is less ideal for sports and gaming, plus the basic Tizen software, glare in bright rooms, and a remote with limited buttons. It feels like a solid everyday set if you are not chasing premium picture quality.

Love these Crystal LED's. I got the 65" and it's a friggin' beast. Sure the apps run like shit, but no one should buy a TV in today's age without getting something like the fantastic Apple TV 4K with it to do the streaming stuff.

Mostly for the warranty. Otherwise, insignia 75 F50 is $359 and 75 QF was $399.

I'm an AV guy for a living. I've been to trade shows and seen cutting edge displays. Bang for the buck, this TV is great! My kids and wife watch a ton of of stuff that a high quality panel wouldn't really matter with. Hooked up to an Apple TV this is a great general tv with lots of real estate.

Just bought my second one of these and it's hard to complain for the price. I don't love the native software, but it's serviceable.

A couple questions for you as a professional:

1. What would the better panel be needed for? Movies? Games? I'm mostly watching sports, news, occasional show on TV.

2. What would be a better current Samsung panel?

Have 2 Samsungs currently - a slightly older 6400 series 55" (like it) and a slightly newer 7100 series 60" in another home (like it less), just for comparison.

Bought this TV, picture is fine. You will get glare in a room with no blinds. App is responsive. No Voice remote, no optical out. But it is a samsung and it is one less login I have to create. Sound is pretty good for a TV. Remote sucks, I have to dig up one of my old Samsung remotes that has more buttons. 60hz, preferred for me watching TV, I hate the soap opera look. If you are gaming on this thing, look elsewhere.

For $370.00 itxs not bad but not all that great. You can definitely find as good or slightly better for same price elsewhere. Big hang up here is the 60 Hz refresh rate on a screen that is so big. This will be particularly noticeable while watching sports (ball moving quickly across the screen) and with action movies. On a smaller screen it might not be as apparent but on a screen 50" or larger the lag would definitely bother me.

I assume this is an edge lit TV at this price?
I looked at is side by side to a few others that were $200 more and they were better but if there wasn't a TV there to compare it too, this was a decent set.
Just don't look a an OLED in the room!!

Dayum. Can't believe how inexpensive "flat screen" TV's have become. My first plasma was a 42 inch Panasonic plasma that cost... $8000. My last TV was a 50 inch Panasonic plasma that I'm watching right now. Purchased in 2014 for $1050, the last of the plasmas.... still works great.

Wonder if these $370 units will still be working a dozen years from now... LOL

Crystal TV's are dogshit. You get what you pay for.. There's still a large percentage of people who think bigger is better.
