I fear jinxing myself but I want to kiss my Hisense for the work it put in this season. Though there were days it could not keep-up when the outside temp was high 90's, still did a decent job. It's only a 120sq ft room but has vaulted ceilings and a closet that is not air tight so that's probably another 20sq ft.

It didn't appear to be used, but it had a few scuffs on it? Wouldn't the scuffs be an indicator that it's used? Brand new stuff shouldn't come with scuffs... used stuff does. Just saying.

Great unit, it what I own. Don't have a single negative thing to say about it, just make sure you set a reminder to periodically wash the air intake grill, or else the unit will make noise to compensate for the obstruction.

I'm betting these are returns from Costco. It's a great portable AC. At full blast it's pretty loud, but the sleep mode is very quiet for a unit like this. My house has vaulted ceilings upstairs (aka no attic) so it traps heat and gets quite hot in the summer. I put one in my study, one in the master bed, and it kept things cool all summer long. My master bed is pretty damn big (maybe 20 x 12?) with vaulted ceilings and it had no trouble keeping up. I got a bigger Midea unit for the large media room we have upstairs and a smaller Midea for the guest bed, and both of them are significantly noisier than this one on its quietest setting.
